Highfield's famous The Highfield House of horrors is ready for expansion. We would like you to send us your most terrible photographs for us to publish on our website, in our newsletters and use in our training packs. Anything to do with health & safety or food safety may be used.

Seminar update....HACCP 2006

Our April seminar was our most successful yet. Unfortunately many customers missed out due to our having only 250 places.

The good news is that we are now running another HACCP Seminar in the autumn in London. We expect this to be equally as popular so please call us soon for details.

Hygiene issues are very relevant to vegetarian food businesses
Many vegetarians believe that food poisoning could not possibly be an issue in their businesses. However, food poisoning is not just associated with meat and meat products. A hygiene guide, relevant to owners of vegetarian food businesses and their employees, has been issued by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Sudan 1 - A Food Alert!
To date, 580 food products have been identified as containing the dye Sudan 1. Why did the Food Standards Agency issue a Food Alert and require all food companies including manufacturers, retailers and caterers, to withdraw from sale food products containing Sudan 1?

HACCP - No longer a choice
Under Regulation EC No. 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs, all food businesses will be required to put in place, implement and maintain a permanent procedure or procedures based on HACCP principles. This will be a legal requirement from 1st January 2006.
