The start of 2007 has been extremely exciting for us:

  • We have developed (to launch June) brand-new interactive training solutions for the new Level 2 courses (explained later).
  • We have been recognized by Doncaster Chamber of Commerce as the Doncaster Business of the Year due to excellence in customer service and product innovation.
  • Many more clients have moved over to Highfield as their preferred supplier, due to product quality, family values and service.
  • Feedback on the opening of our new Training Academy has been exceptionally positive.
  • The new licensing book is nearly finished.

25 inhabitants of Kochkovsky in Russia were hospitalized in February 2005 following the consumption of under-cooked shish kebab made from badger meat.

At the end of February 2005 16 people in Tolyatti in Russia developed botulism following the consumption of a salad made with canned cucumbers.

Better regulation in the EU

On 14th November 2006 the EU Commission presented a Strategic Review of Better Regulation in the EU (COM/2006/689), including a proposal to reduce the administrative burdens on business by 25% by 2012.

The provision of counselling is not enough to combat workplace stress

A recent judgment from the Court of Appeal ruled that the provision of counselling services at work is not enough to protect the mental health of their workforce. The Court of Appeal upheld a decision made by the High Court that a payroll analyst be paid £135,545 in damages for having suffered a breakdown, brought on by pressure of work.
