Anaphylaxis Campaign and Highfield working together to reduce risk from food allergens
Highfield and The Anaphylaxis Campaign are to introduce a new, accredited standard for food manufacturers to provide confidence in food allergy labelling for consumers. A logo will be used on food produced by manufacturers achieving the standard to reassure consumers that the allergen labelling is accurate and that food has been protected from contamination.
The new standard and guidelines can be purchased from Highfield.co.uk in November 2007. An allergen standard for catering will be available in the New Year.
Highfield will also be providing training for auditors and for persons wishing to implement the standard. It is anticipated that the courses will be available in the New Year.
Anaphylaxis is the term for a life-threatening allergic reaction. The Anaphylaxis Campaign was set up in 1994 to support and inform all those people who are at risk from this worrying condition.
Further information on the allergen standard will be available on the Highfield website from November.
Highfield freeze prices, whilst competition increase their prices considerably
The New Highfield Food Safety Handbook Level 2 is an updated version of the Foundation Food Hygiene book, which has sold over 4 million copies world wide.
The new book is ideal for use on CIEH, RIPH and RSPH courses and is the preferred choice for the trainer who really understands what their delegates require. Amazingly we have been able to ‘freeze’ the price of this book, whilst the competition have decided to raise their prices considerably.
