I cannot open the PowerPointTM presentation

I get one of the following errors when I try to open a Highfield presentation

This is a known bug which affects Powerpoint 2003 and can be remedied by downloading a patch from the Microsoft website.
Read the notes, then download and apply the patch

Follow this link to the Microsoft website

I cannot load the disk

There is not enough space available on your hard disk. To make more space available, you can delete old applications and programs you don't use (Check 'System Requirements').

The disk will not run

There is not enough memory available. Quit all other applications and programs. If this does not work, increase your machine's RAM (Check 'System Requirements').

There is no sound

Check whether you have a sound card installed. If so, check your speakers or headphones are connected to the CD-ROM drive and that the volume control is turned up.

There is sound clipping

The CD-ROM drive or your processor are not fast enough (Check 'System Requirements') or you have a low-spec sound card. Copy the CD contents onto your hard-drive; this will reduce or eliminate the clipping.

My machine freezes

There is not enough memory available. Either quit other applications and programs or increase your machine's RAM (Check 'System Requirements').
If the screen turns black, press the 'Alt' and 'tab' keys together.

I cannot complete a module or get past 'What the Law Says' (Health & Safety e-learning)

At the point in the program which covers 'What the Law Says', you will have three options ; 'Employers Responsibilities', 'Employees Responsibilities' and 'Review all Topics'. Click on 'Review all Topics', each page will be narrated to you. Wait for the narration to finish, then wait a further 5 seconds before clicking the 'down' button to view the next page. Repeat until you have viewed each page.

I cannot print a certificate even though the user has finished (Food Safety Foundation e-learning)

Log in as the user in question and go to the module selection screen. To the left of each module title there is a white progress bar which gets smaller as you progress through the module. Look at the bar; if there is still part of the bar remaining, you will need to retake one or more pages in that module. Beaware that sometimes the bar will be so small it will just appear as a black line.

Training records lost (network version)

Either the software has not been copied onto the server's hard-drive, your permissions do not allow records to be saved to the server's hard-drive or you are not running a local-server network. NB: Records will not be kept if the CD is being run from a virtual drive.
