This practical course will give First Aid personnel the knowledge and skills neccessary to use the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) competently, and with confidence.

Within the United Kingdom someone suffers from a heart attack every two minutes. Cardiac Arrest is the foremost killer, with over 100,000 people dying as a result from this each year.

A proportion of these people could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available.

Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) are now becoming more and more common throughout the community. They can now be found in some Supermarkets, Leisure Centres and Shopping Precincts. 

Although, at present, there is no legislation governing Defibrillators, training is essential to ensure the correct operation which ultimately will help to save an individuals life.


Highfield.co.uk Ltd follows the guidelines laid down by the European Resuscitation Council and the Resuscitation Council UK to ensure that a comprehensive training programme is delivered to its learners.

This is an extremely practical course that will, upon conclusion, allow suitably qualified First Aid personnel to use the AED competently, and with confidence.

Who should attend?

This course is ideal for First Aid personnel who wish to learn how to use an AED competently.

Duration

A 6-hour course consisting of theory and practical work. A maximum of 8 students can be accommodated on the course.

Qualification

There is a formal assessment at the start of the day in order to ensure that all students can resuscitate effectively. In addition to this, there is an assessment at the end of the course including the practical use of the AED.
On successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate of competence valid for 12 months.

Location

This course can be delivered either at Highfield House, the dates of which are shown above, or at your own premises, thus reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling.
